POSITION TITLE:     Senior Level Development Professional
SALARY:     $90k - 100k
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Level Development Professional will be responsible for the planning and execution of the organization’s advancement strategies. S/he will be responsible for overseeing a dynamic fundraising team of six Campaign Managers and Associates in addition to managing relationships with committees and high level donors.  This position reports directly to the Head of Access and Advancement and works in collaboration with the Chief Strategy and Development Officer. S/he will lead the development and implementation of advancement campaigns and advancement policies, protocols, processes and procedures that are in line with best practices of this sector.  This position impacts the following departmental success metrics: campaign development, donor acquisition, donor retention, donor attrition, donor satisfaction, gift processing time, number of donors, number of gifts and increase in funds raised.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of the organization’s advancement strategy, initiatives, processes and development
  • Ensures that the organization’s Board, Committees and Senior Leadership Team are guided and assisted in their support of the advancement strategy
  • Provide leadership and training to the 6 staff members on the global advancement team
  • Direct, guide and oversee the design and development of a range of fundraising campaigns at a strategic, global and community level
  • Works with global partners and colleagues to strategize and develop methods of approach to a range of donors
  • Oversees grant proposals and reports to corporate, foundation, and government funders
  • Works with the finance team to ensure maintenance of accurate accounting of all restricted and unrestricted donations
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with current donors
  • Strives to exceed goals by developing relationships with prospective donors through strategic planning and donor stewardship
  • Monitor all donor information in fundraising database
  • Oversees the research of prospects and funding sources
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
·         A Master’s degree with at least 10 years of work experience. Several years experience in a fundraising role is required, preferably in a not for profit organization
·         Ability to maintain heavy travel schedule – approximately 50% across global time zones with high level decision-making and timelines for travel
·         Thorough understanding of the philanthropic process and fundraising ethics and demonstrated strategic research and planning experience
·         Experience of successfully developing or managing partnerships at a global level
·         Demonstrated experience in liaising with and in managing public figures as donors and volunteers
·         Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a diverse variety of individuals and groups
