The Journal of the GPA...A Prime Opportunity for YOU

Hello GPA-NCA Chapter members,

As GPA-NCA members, we are delighted to be serving as the new co-editors of the Journal of the GPA. As many of you know, the Journal is the association’s peer-reviewed research journal, published once per year. The 2014 edition is almost finished and will be released in October at the GPA National Conference in Portland, as well as distributed by mail.

We are actively seeking contributions to the 2015 edition and we invite GPA-NCA members to consider writing an article! Contributing scholarly topics in the grants field is a valuable way to share information, stay abreast of developments in our profession, and increase the rigor of our peer-reviewed publication as an industry standard of excellence. With nearly 2,000 current members internationally, publishing in the Journal also provides many opportunities to showcase our membership skills and subject matter expertise.

Our priorities are articles that address new ideas in our field, contribute research-based information, provide a case study or best practices, and examine any of the competencies and skills described in the GPCI Table of Validated Competencies and Skills. Submissions are welcomed on a rolling basis. As a first step, prospective authors should submit a 100-300 word summary of the proposed manuscript. Specific instructions are provided on the Journal page on the GPA website. Please submit your contributions or any questions that you may have via email to journal@grantprofessionals.org.

In addition to articles, we are also seeking peer reviewers to read and evaluate submitted manuscripts. This is another valuable way to contribute to the profession as well as to refine your review and evaluation skills. If you are interested or have questions, please send an email to journal@grantprofessionals.org.

Thank you for helping us make the Journal a valuable resource for all grant and nonprofit professionals. We hope to see GPA-NCA members as future authors and reviewers!

Best regards,

David Lindeman and Andy Rawdon,
Co-Editors, Journal of the GPA
