Bread for the World, is looking to hire a Campaign Manager

Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. By changing policies, programs and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity far beyond the communities in which we live. Bread for the World Institute provides policy analysis on hunger and strategies to end it.

CAMPAIGN MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: Development and Membership
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Development and Membership
POSITION TYPE: Exempt level; Time-limited through March 2016
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: This position assists in the planning, supervision and management of a variety of activities and projects designed for the successful completion of a comprehensive campaign.The Campaign Director also provides administrative and management support to the Campaign Chair and Campaign Cabinet.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
1. Plans, organizes and directs the overall aspects of the campaign, working closely with the Vice
President, the President, the Campaign Chair and key volunteer leadership.
2. Assists the Vice President in the establishment and evaluation of short and long-range goals and
timelines for the campaign.
3. Serves as the campaign liaison to various departments, coordinating activity with membership
services, information systems, and finance.
4. Prepares periodic campaign reports and analyzes data for use by the Vice President, Campaign
Chair and Campaign Cabinet for the purpose of monitoring progress and maintaining campaign
momentum.
5. Serves as a liaison to the Cabinet and other campaign volunteers in the organization and execution
of cultivation and solicitation events in strategic markets.
6. Manages the production and flow of campaign-related information and materials in cooperation
with appropriate staff to include printed materials, newsletters, website and media relations.
7. Manages the campaign budget, gift acknowledgement, research and donor management processes
as they relate to the campaign.
8. Provides secure and user-friendly on-line giving options that coordinate with the website, as well
as, gift accounting, donor recognition and campaign marketing.
9. Oversees the scheduling and organization of the Campaign Cabinet meetings, including the
management of Cabinet communications.
10. Participates in the planning and execution of special events related to the campaign, including
dedications and celebrations.
11. Other duties as assigned.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
1. Attends weekly departmental and team meetings and other internal meetings.
2. Serves as department representative on organizations’ task forces, as needed.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• College degree with the equivalent of three years of work experience; prior campaign experience
preferred
• Strong customer services experience required, including the ability to discuss sensitive financial
information in an appropriate manner
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge database a plus
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proven problem-solving skills
• A self-starter
• Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently, including meeting deadlines
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team
