The Director, Foundation & Government Relations (Director) is responsible for managing and monitoring implementation of annual fundraising plans as related to foundation and government funding sources. In addition, the Director facilitates and administers proposal development, grant activities and/or strategic partnerships with business and industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 - Create and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan for private foundations and governmental funding sources.

- Support annual fundraising goals through prospect identification, grant writing and management of stewardship activities for all grant funding sources within his/her line of sight.

- Meet and achieve all annual financial goals and expectations

- Cultivate relationships and maintain regular communication with key government and foundation contacts.

- Work with Club and HQ staff to ensure that grants are managed in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.

-Work in concert with Grants department to ensure funding requirements are met.

- Work closely with program staff to support current funding needs and proactively identify future needs supporting the strategic objectives of the organization.

- Handle a donor portfolio and track all funding related activities in donor database.

- Support acknowledgement, stewardship and recognition activities as appropriate.

- Offer guidance on strategic project planning, research, grant proposal development and grants administration.

- Facilitate and support strategic partnership activities with business/industry, community organizations and other entities by participating in partnership meetings.

- Assist in negotiations of roles and duties, and assist with the drafting of supportive documents.

- Research and maintain current information related to populations targeted by organization programming.

- Maintain close contact with assigned staff to provide technical assistance in matters of fund development; interact regularly with senior management and other staff and as assigned with BGCGW's Metropolitan Board of Directors, regional boards and committees.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED
- Four year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five years work experience writing and managing government and foundation grants.
- Possess the ability to function as a team leader and facilitate effective delegation of tasks as well as the ability to build rapport among colleagues and sustain positive professional relationships.
- Experience with grants processes in a nonprofit environment (use of DonorPerfect strongly preferred)
- Must possess a thorough understanding of the laws, regulations or requirements contained in OMB Circulars A-110 and A-122.  Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, cost recovery through grant budgeting
- The ability to identify and leverage talents of others in order to meet organizational objectives.
- Demonstrated competence in data analysis, data collection, and data presentation.
- High integrity; demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of individuals and groups; respect for diversity.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, facilitation, marketing, budgeting, planning, oral and written communication skills.

ADA SPECIFICATIONS

- Requires the ability to speak, hear, use a personal computer for standard business communications, and the ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
- The ability to travel independently between locations and attend meetings outside of regular operating hours.
